What Is Oral Surgery?

While we always use the least invasive treatment option for a given dental problem, there are times when less invasive treatment options are simply not enough and oral surgery is required.
Frenectomy
A frenectomy is a simple oral surgery to remove a frenum when it is restricting oral function. Frenums are small folds of tissue that connect areas in your mouth, such as your cheeks, tongue, or lips, to your gums.
They are a normal part of the mouth and do not normally cause issues. However, if they do cause any restrictions with eating or speaking, your dentist can perform a frenectomy to remove the frenum and relieve the condition.
